About Candid Font Family

Candid is a sans serif font family inspired by the beauty of geometry, yet optimized for legibility, placing it somewhere between grotesque and geometric. Its delightful curves and seamless round shapes result in a modern contemporary look while technical details ensure professional accuracy for each of the individual characters and a coherent look for the overall appearance. Its tall x-height makes it particularly useful for body texts and any modern media from print to digital. The main idea behind Candid was to create a neutral, yet friendly typeface that has a modern geometric feel but is space-efficient and easy to read at the same time, making it perfect for digital interfaces.

The typeface comes with powerful OpenType features that will satisfy even the most demanding of designers. To mention a few of them: old-style figures, tabular figures, fractions, arrows, ligatures, case-sensitive forms… Candid provides you with all the necessary characters for Basic Latin, Western European, Central European, South-Eastern European, Vietnamese, Pinyin, Basic Cyrillic, Bulgarian Cyrillic, Bulgarian Cursive, Serbian and Macedonian, Ukrainian, Adobe Extended Cyrillic + Extended, and all 71 basic characters of the Greek language.

The development of the typeface started in 2019 and concluded in the summer of 2021.
