About Mene One NY Throwie Font Family

Mene One NY Throwie is a based on the "Throw up" styles, ubiquitous in the streets of NYC. Originally, executed in spray paint, Throw-ups are usually bubble-styled letters, done quickly in 2 or 3 colors with an outline and simple fill. This font incorporates an outline and fill, that when used in layers, can execute 2 color type treatments. Originally from New Jersey, MENE has made his home in, New York City. He had a brief albeit satisfying career of street bombing in the late 90s that saw its end with a brief encounter with the Vandal Squad. Now a family man, Mene has dedicated himself to the preservation and education of style in its many forms.

About Handselecta

Handselecta is a division of Adnauseum, Inc. An independent design studio, based in New York City. Started in 2003, Handselecta is the worlds first font foundry dedicated to working alongside graffiti artists to document and convert their handwriting into typefaces. It started when Christian Acker and Kyle Talbott, two graphic designers in New York City, realized they had a shared experience as retired vandals. Their shared passion, for type, design and vandalism, manifested itself in this massive project that has taken up all their free time ever since.
